World Missions Sunday |
[24 May 2010] |
In the UK our average household spends £45 a week on food. That includes £10.10 on meat, £3.40 on fresh vegetables, £2.80 on fresh fruit, £3.80 on soft drinks and £1.80 on chocolate and sweets.
There are over 1 billion, yes 1 billion, people in the world who never have enough to eat. They struggle to survive. They go hungry every day.
So our challenge to you is to see how much you can save on your weekly food shopping for one week in June and send that money to Elim Missions.
Are you up for it?
If you are, then send the money you save to Elim Missions (cheques payable to Elim International Missions to address below) or give to your Missions Co-ordinator in your church to send in.
Someone has suggested a way to save lots of money is to buy from www.approvedfood.co.uk an online company that sells goods near their sell-by date. Might be worth checking out – the more money we save, the more we can give!
Thank you, thank you, thank you – on behalf of all the people this will help.
