We interviewed Mandy Campbell, Chair of Elim Lifelink, to find out out more about what Elim Lifelink is all about.
Mandy, what is Lifelink?
| Lifelink is primarily (though not exclusively) a ministry for women. It is a great vehicle for those who wish to become more involved in the work of Elim International Missions. Lifelink has a national leadership team and Lifelink groups exist in many of our Elim Churches. The scripture in Proverbs 31:20 is pivotal to our work, “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.” We support Elim International Missions by fundraising for many overseas projects. We encourage women to visit our overseas works and we arrange specific ‘Lifelink Teams’ for women to do this. We encourage prayer for all aspects of our missions work. By having Lifelink groups in our churches we can ‘make a difference locally to make a difference globally’. As well as Lifelink teams we also have Shop with Integrity and Lifelink Gifts4Life. |
So who is part of the Lifelink leadership team?
| Lifelink has a national leadership team of which I am Chair. Team members are Amanda Blount, Karen Green, Lisa Lenton, Rachel Hesketh and Jo Rubens. We are a team of hard working women who are passionate about mission. We encourage churches to set up Lifelink groups, and we give time to visiting local churches to share our heart and raise the profile of our ministry. |
You mentioned Lifelink Gifts4Life, what is this?
| Gifts4Life is a Lifelink initiative where you can buy real gifts which are 'wanted' not ‘wasted’. These gifts include such things as school uniforms, education, books and food for the world’s poorest children through to wells providing fresh water to rural communities. You are able to buy these items as gifts for friends or family online here or you can contact us for a brochure. |
What is Shop with Integrity?
|
Shop with Integrity partners with our Elim missionaries around the world. We ask them to obtain ethically sourced goods on our behalf, which we then sell at various missions events in the UK. We can make considerable profit on these goods, which we then sow back into Elim Missions. This is a win win project because when buying the goods overseas, we are helping needy people sustain a living, and then the profit is sown back into missions. We believe in the principles of ethical trading and pay a fair price for the goods we buy. “A poor man’s field yields an abundant harvest, but corruption steals it away” Proverbs 28:19

So how does someone get involved in Lifelink?
|
I am always thrilled to hear from anyone who would like to be involved in Lifelink. So if anyone is interested in starting a group please contact us and we would be happy to help. You can also support Lifelink Gifts4Life here. And Shop with Integrity is open at our Elim Conference, The Gathering events and many more.
